_Muhatma Gandhi's Biography
_Muhatma Gandhi was a student of law in London and Indian nationalist.
Gandhi went to Southern Africa for about 20 years, this was to fight for
discriminatory laws against Indians. Then, Gandhi returned to India and
was known as a leader and apart of the National congress. Gandhi was a
peaceful leader of many protests. I believe that the quote, "When I
despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love
has always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time
they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Always."
means that even though Gandhi faced many troubles he never gave up on
hope. He was a leader of peaceful intentions, these intentions touch
millions of people all across India.
Gandhi was constantly put down by others when he was a lawyer in Southern Africa because he was considered a "colored" lawyer. Instead of letting the disrespect of others get to him he just shrugged it off. Gandhi finally decided to do something when he was forcefully removed from first class because he was "colored". These peaceful traits followed Gandhi for the rest of his life. Gandhi held a national congress meeting of south Africa meeting with other Indian citizens and the British military. this is where Gandhi's leadership skills were first put to test. Gandhi was beaten down for speaking his mind. Gandhi did not fight back though. this just shows how Gandhi's plan all started, because Gandhi didn't fight back he was not aloud to be held in a cell. Gandhi lead all of his people in a peaceful resistance, which made the military look bad. Gandhi knew how the people of Indian would side with the people who were innocent.
Gandhi was yelled at, hit, threatened, and even shot, but this is even a better reason why he was and is an inspiration to people around the world. Gandhi showed the world that fight each other wont solve any of your problems. Gandhi's life represented how you should never give up on something that you truly believe in. Gandhi will always be remembered as a courageous man who never gave up on his people even though it ended up killing him eventually.
